This
was the scene behind my house yesterday. If you'll look closely beyond
the trees, it looks like an icy pond. The truth is when it rained so
much earlier this week, it flooded the field. It's all rain water but
looks like a pond.
One word: WOW!

JOVIAL FREAKS OF NATURE
I posted this on my other blog but I'm going to post this as well.
Have you ever had to those moments when you see something a little bit more within something of nature? I was outside taking pictures when suddenly this tree on the side of my house caught my attention.
It's been said in some mystical Native American traditions trees possess a spirit, much like a person. Perhaps by looking at this whimsical creature, I could see why.
To some, this look like just another tree. To me, I saw a talking tree with a mouth and eyes. It looked like for a bit it could actually speak or sing. What's sad is this tree's been in my yard for years now and I never noticed this aspect of it until today.
Dear merry friends, we must always keep an open mind with it comes to the unnoticeable things we easily chalk off as ordinary. You never know what jovial merry spirit might be nearby!

THE LIVING AMONG THE DEAD
January is a really difficult month to write a blog entry. I've tried but it's the settling of the Christmas dust that makes everything dull and mundane. Sometimes, I can't find anything to write about until Spring when the flowers bloom and the seasons come back to life.
HOWEVER...when I see skies like this, it makes certain feelings and passions in me rise from the ashes like a mighty phoenix. There are some things I love about this time of year: the scent of mulling spices, the comfy afghans, and warm cups of cocoa. Also, let's not forget roaring fires, curling up to a good book, and cuddling with our four-legged babies (A.K.A. puppy dogs or kitties, whichever you have).
Life is kinda like that, too. Often times, we think certain things in our life aren't moving forward full-speed as we'd like for them to, but if we just persevere and keep going we'll find that one ounce of life among all the death that seems to be constantly around us.
But life is for the living, so let's get to it!
